Adam Jonasson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, sweet Adam Jonasson on the night of March 7, 2024 at the age of 36 years old. Our son, brother, uncle and friend.

Adam was born and raised a true "Transcona boy" spending most of his life in Transcona and making numerous friends in which he considered family. Growing up he loved to play baseball and go fishing, but as he got older he especially enjoyed going to the cabin to spend time with his best friend Dylan aka "Welchy.” Adam graduated from Murdoch McKay Collegiate with a dual diploma in aerospace and continued his studies in accounting at Herzing College.

At an early age, after the death of his father he helped his mom raise two strong and independent women, his sisters Krystal and Jen. Even though he was younger then them, he played a major part in their lives growing up. He will be sorely missed by both of them.

When Adam was diagnosed with MS in his early adulthood, he faced his struggles with a "glass is half full" attitude, always looking at the brighter side of life, he never let his affliction keep him away from important events and milestones in his and his family's life.

Although Adam did not have children of his own, he treated his nieces and nephews as such and they were the pride and joy of his life. He loved watching each of them grow while encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves. Adams language of love was most expressed by spending quality time with his family and close friends. He was especially proud of "Cutie" when she graduated from high school and throughout all of her outstanding sports achievements.

Adam was well loved by so many people and was often included as "extended family" for many of them. With his laid-back attitude and charm he was sure to win you over with his genuine smile. He had a fierce sense of love and loyalty to everyone he considered his friends and family and you could always count on him to be by your side through life's many ups and downs.  Even though Adam stood at over 6 feet tall, he will always be known to his family as "little man.” He truly had a heart of gold and will be forever missed.

Adam was predeceased by his father (Colin), aunt (Lucille) and his "big bro" (Will).

He leaves behind his mother Laura-Lee (Larry); his siblings: Troy, Krystal, Jen (Matt), and Tara (James). He will live on in his nieces and nephews: Owen, Belle, Jada, Sean, Sophia, Easton, Coltin, Foster and Hannah. He also leaves behind his extended families the Morency's and Uncle Gerald, Katherine (Richard) and kids, as well as special friends: Sarah, Sheri, Gavin and his best friend Dylan Welch.

A Celebration of Adam's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in Faith Community Church, 6 Kern Drive, with a luncheon to follow. All family and friends are welcome.
