It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our mother Annie Goodman, who departed this life on March 12, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Goodman, daughter Patricia Boyce, grandson Ryan Goodman, her brothers Steve and Nikolas, and parents Annie and Peter Kraichy.
She leaves behind her surviving children Dawn (Alan), Lloyd Jr. (Marilyn), Darren (Debbie) and Dan (Anny) – along with eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
She was born July 29, 1932, and spent her entire life in Winnipeg. As a young woman working at a sewing factory, she met a handsome repairman who needed to fix her sewing machine, which often conveniently broke down. That good-looking gentleman soon became her husband and our father. They spent their whole married life in Winnipeg, working and bringing up their children.
Mom devoted her working life to Safeway. First working at the store on McPhillips and Mountain Avenue, then moving out to Transcona. She started off at a checkout position then later becoming the first woman in Winnipeg to head her own department. She enjoyed the weekly game of cards and tea with Dad and family.
She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, and her pride in her family and home.
The family would like to recognize the compassionate and wonderful care shown by the staff at River East Personal Care Home.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for a later date.
