It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Barry on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 76 years after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Barry was predeceased by his father Jake (1954) and mother Minnie (1993). Barry is survived by siblings: Vince (Bernice), Irene, Vic, and Barb (Jim), and daughter Shannon, in Lethbridge, AB, whom he loved and praised her work success. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews in Salmon Arm, BC, and in and around Winnipeg, MB as well as so many other relatives and friends.
Barry worked at jobs ranging from Nickel Mining, Police Officer, Weigh Scale Operator, Home Construction, Carpet Layer and recently as a Winnipeg Transit Bus Driver. His hobbies included stamp collecting and flying both scale model and full size airplanes. Barry was known as a humble man who had a wonderful sense of humor.
In keeping with Barry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A family gathering may be held at a later date.
Thank you to Manitoba Cancer Care, the Palliative Care Nurses who cared for him at home and to Dr. St. Goddard and the wonderful Nursing Staff at the St. Boniface 8th Floor Palliative Care Unit for the way you treated Barry with compassion, dignity and respect.
“Forever In Our Hearts.”
