It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Cody Listoe, of Winnipeg, at the age of 32 on January 17, 2025.
Born on May 21, 1992, in Winnipeg, Cody was the cherished son of Keith Listoe and Shelley Ouellette (Rob Ouellette). He was the beloved brother of Brandi Friesen (Travis Friesen) and Tyler Listoe, and a proud and loving uncle to his special niece and nephews; Wilder, Connor, and Arlowe. He was also deeply loved by his grandparents; Dan and Bessie Listoe, Larry and Lynne Currie, Mel Ouellette, and Audrey Kelly; as well as by numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Art Kelly, and uncle Mark Listoe. We all remember him as loving, caring, and someone who was always happy to help a friend.
Cody received a Certificate in Industrial Welding from MITT and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He found many interesting positions to put his talents to good use, one of which he was very proud of was his work on the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Most recently he worked at MacDon Industries putting his creativity to practice in tool engineering.
Free-spirited and endlessly creative, Cody found joy in the outdoors, whether it be camping, hiking, or fishing. He was a skilled artist and craftsman, working with his hands to bring ideas to life—most recently diving into 3D printing to create unique and wonderful projects. In recent years, his passion for skateboarding led him to contribute to the community at the Pitikwé Skate Park downtown, where he loved helping others, sharing his enthusiasm, and stubbornly continuing to push his body's physical limits despite the realities of adulthood.
In keeping with Cody’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Cody’s life will be held on February 15th, 2025 at 11:00am in Epiphany Lutheran Church 200 Dalhousie Drive.
Cody’s warm, adventurous spirit and his many talents will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
