Colleen Rae Barton

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the sudden passing of Colleen Rae Barton on June 1, 2025. A radiant soul whose laughter and zest for life touched everyone she met.

She was predeceased by her father Raymond; grandparents Irwin + Rhoda Bland and Dorothy Barton; uncles Terry, Wayne, and Lorne Bland, Goerge Barton, and Ronald Sawchuk.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted mother, Shannon Bland; half sister Daniele Shankaruk; as well as many aunties, uncles, cousins and many close friends, especially Ashley.  

At 38 years young Colleen lived a quiet life as best as she could with the several health issues she had to endure. Her kindness, infectious humour and unwavering love for her family and friends meant the world to her, especially her devoted mom and friend Ashley.

Colleen was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Transcona. Graduated from Murdoc McKay high school. And went on to complete the administrative assistant program at Herzing college. She was employed with sky bridge America for 16 years.

Colleen loved her music especially the Backstreet Boys. She enjoyed movies and TV series; she also loved going to Comic Con.

In keeping with Colleens wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Colleen’s name to the Winnipeg Humane society.

Peacefully sleeping resting at last.

The worlds heavy troubles and trials are past.

In silence she suffered

In patience she bore

Till God called her home to suffer
