Darlene Kazmir Obituary

Darlene Suzanne Kazmir (née Finch), born June 7, 1951, passed away peacefully on Friday March 13th, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born and raised in Transcona, Darlene remained deeply connected to the community that shaped her. Attending school and working in Transcona throughout her life. She built her life around the people she loved and the moments that made life special. Darlene was predeceased by her parents Al & Mary Finch and brother Ron Finch.

Darlene was known for her warmth, her sense of humor, and her love of laughter. She had a vibrant spirit and truly enjoyed life—whether she was out for brunch with friends, heading to concerts like Garth Brooks & Carrie Underwood with her daughter Shauna, or planning shopping trips to Fargo. She loved getting her nails done, spending time with friends over drinks, and surrounding herself with the people who made her smile. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs; her dog Mojo brought her constant joy and companionship.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of over 50 years, Les Kazmir; her daughter, Shauna Hawkins; her son-in-law, Cary; and her cherished granddaughter, Abigail (2019), who was the light of her life. Darlene loved attending Abigail's dance recitals, they brought tears of joy watching her only granddaughter up on stage. Darlene’s family meant everything to her, and she took great pride in the love they shared.

Darlene’s kindness, laughter, and lively spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love she gave so freely. Darlene will be missed dearly by her sister in laws & brother in laws as well as her nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held soon, details to follow. In honour of Darlene, those who wish may share a laugh, enjoy brunch with loved ones, or raise a glass among friends—just as she would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, those who choose can donate in honour of Darlene to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a dog rescue of your choice as her loving dog Mojo was a Rescue.
