David Reid Parkinson, 68, passed away on October 10th, 2025. David passed away at home surrounded by his children and Carol at his side. David was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 20th, 1957, David was the son of Eloise and Andrew Parkinson.
David cherished lifelong friendships formed during his school years in Transcona, where he developed a love for sports such as sponge hockey, curling, and baseball. Generous with both his time and his heart, David was deeply involved in charitable organizations, an example his children proudly continue today.
David grew up in Transcona, later marrying Carol and raising their three beautiful children. He fondly referred to Transcona as “God’s Country”.
David is lovingly remembered by Carol and their children Sadie, Matthew, and Hannah, and cherished grandchildren, Dorian, and Ivy, who brought endless joy and smiles to his life. He is also survived by his sister Heather, and his nephews Scott (Cole and Cayden), and Adam.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at Transcona Cemetery on October 17, 2025, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Society or CancerCare Manitoba.
