The family of Edwin John Oviatt announces his passing on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, after a lengthy struggle with diabetes.
Edwin is predeceased by his wife Karen (nee Clark); father Raymond; and Mother Muriel; as well as siblings Steven, Carl, and Evelyn.
He leaves behind his son Gordon (Lita); and daughter Samantha (Kyle); and grandchildren Tessa, Delana, Aries, Brock, Wyatt and Loki.
Edwin was born in Kirkland Lake Ontario and moved to Winnipeg in his early twenties when he was posted here while in the military. In Winnipeg he met and married Karen in 1982. He played softball, sponge hockey and was an avid bowler, joining a league for many years. He enjoyed cooking which became his passion and his career until he retired.
