Grant Ruchkall Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grant Joseph Ruchkall on the evening of June 21, 2026.

Grant was born and raised in Transcona, where he attended Murdoch MacKay Collegiate. After high school, Grant went on to help run the family business at the Princess Hotel and later the Rennie Hotel in the Whiteshell.

Grant is lovingly remembered by his partner, Kelly (Karlee), and his four children: Kaleigh (Jamie), Josh (Melissa), Aliya (Trevor), and Eric (Micayla). He was a proud grandfather to Aidin (Helena), Keaton, Sadie, Elijah, and Brinley, and a cherished great-grandfather to Romy.

Dad leaves behind his brothers, Greg (Nicole) and Mark (Beverly), as well as his mother, Eileen, with whom he shared a very special bond. Grant was predeceased by his father, Gordon, and his sister, Leanne.

One of Grant’s greatest joys was spending time at the family cabin in the Whiteshell. There, he could often be found delegating jobs, listening to music on the beach, or casting a line into the water. If Dad wasn’t at the lake, you could usually find him in his Bomber room watching a game or relaxing on the back deck working on his tan.

Grant will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
