Kenneth John Dixon

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Dixon (Ken) on May 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 13, 1946, Ken lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family.

Ken was a devoted husband to Chris and a proud father to Debra (Darryl Kutzan) and Keith (Janette Carrière). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dora Dixon; his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Johnny Dyck; and his niece, Sheryl Campbell. Ken will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

After spending much of his career as a computer programmer, Ken, an avid “car guy,” spent his later years working in various roles at local car dealerships before retiring in 2020. His passion for cars remained a lifelong interest, and he enjoyed being surrounded by people who shared that enthusiasm.

Family vacations were a highlight of Ken’s life, and he cherished the many cruises he took with Chris, the love of his life. However, his greatest joy came from supporting his grandchildren. Ken spent countless hours in the bleachers, cheering on Mitchell, Brooklyn, Carter, Colin, and Renée at their football, soccer, and basketball games. Win or lose, he was always there, proud of them and cheering them on with unwavering support.

We take comfort in knowing that Ken’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the countless memories we will forever cherish.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dennis Caners for his exceptional kindness and care as Ken’s primary caregiver, as well as to our friends and family for their ongoing love and support.

We gratefully decline flowers, however, if you wish, charitable donations may be made in Ken’s honour to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
