Born and raised in Transcona, Lynne became a hairdresser after high school. She later devoted herself to being a stay at home mom when her children were young. Due to Don’s shift work Lynne often became the chauffeur and equipment manager for hockey, bowling and figure skating. Years later, she loved working at Bernie Wolfe School, where she became affectionally known as the “Canteen Lady“ for her dedication to the staff and students. Lynne was a gifted self-taught quilter who belonged to several guilds and earned many ribbons at quilt shows for her fine handwork. While a resident at West Hawk Lake, she founded the S.E.W. Quilters and enjoyed many years of friendship and creativity with local quilting friends. In 2008 Don and Lynne moved to Villa Beliveau in the Southdale area and made new friendships and enjoyed the Life Lease style of living. She especially valued her frequent quilting get togethers with Lorraine, Pat and Meka until she could no longer participate. Lynne and Don also enjoyed spending parts of several winters at their vacation home in Mesa, AZ. Lynne faced a difficult battle with cancer during the last two years of her life with courage and grace.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Cancer Care and then Palliative Care for their efforts, guidance and caring. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation would be appreciated.
