SHAUNE AMOS KEMKARAN
~ August 29, 1969 - July 18, 2024 ~
** The sky may glow a little brighter now, as it has another star shining in its midst. **
Shaune left this world to join his dear sister Sandie, who was much like a mom to him for most of his life. Close family left to cherish his memory are his daughters Tesla and Ashleigh, brother Chris (Julie), nieces Holly and Haylee and his mother Marilyn. Shaunie’s most recent memories lie with his beloved “Pohga” or Rhonda, as she is known by most others.
Shaune was a fierce protector of those he cared for. Throughout the years, he always supported and watched over his “Little Bro” Chris, who was forever the shadow following in his footsteps, until that shadow became an equal. Shaune had a great respect for Chris and where he led his life.
Anyone who encountered Shaune knew that his friends were also his family. And by that definition, his family was large. Shaunie’s past bandmates, hold enough memories to fill a novel. Also, his trusted ride-or-die, Lynette, who could be seen carting gear or driving his band vehicles from gig to gig, who will miss him dearly.
Shaune led a life full of great times with many people, so there are few that don’t recognize his name. Most, likely to have a story to tell about him, whether it be about his rockstar stage presence, his ability to prank just about anybody, or because of the fact that he was definitely a very good driver.
Being a hard worker is something for which Shaune prided himself. For the past 20+ years he was honoured to be a member of the Boilermakers Lodge 359. He spoke highly of his Union Brothers and Sisters, and always made sure people knew just how skilled his co-workers were, in work that was high effort, little reward. In true Shaune-fashion, there too, co-workers became friends, and some became guitar jamming buddies as well.
While Shaune’s obvious passions lie in music, he had what some might call an odd obsession with Princess Auto and Dollarama, and of course where you’d expect, a close relationship with Long & McQuade. He managed to find any possible reason to stop in, just to check things out. He could frequently be found asking if there were any deals, coupons or prizes!
Shaune had an obvious love for guitars, performance lighting, making things sound louder and fog machines. His love for playing guitar attracted many an amateur strummer. He was always willing to give pointers and instill confidence in all those who were willing to take the advice.
