On Monday September 8, 2025, with family by her side, Sylvia lost her courageous battle with blood cancer and crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her mom, dad, and pets that she loved and cared for over the years.
Sylvia was born on August 23, 1961, in Galt Ontario to Steven and Emilie Navratil, a little sister for Emily and Peter.
She attended elementary and high school in Kenora and worked at Pinecrest home for the aged to save for tuition at St. Clair College in Windsor. It was there that she made and maintained lifelong friendships.
Her career as an animal health technician with Pembina veterinary hospital spanned over 38 years. She provided support to veterinarians, assisted with diagnostics, treatments, and educated pet owners on aftercare requirements
"Casino Auntie" is mourned and sadly missed by her family and friends. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
If desired, donations in Sylvia's memory can be made to any animal welfare organization.
