Terry Lynn Scott (nee Black)
January 18,1947 -September 3,2022
It is with heavy and saddened hearts that the family of Terry Lynn Scott reports her passing on September 3 at 1:15 pm at the Health Science Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Terry was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba the oldest child to Donald and Thelma Black. Her childhood was spent in East Kildonan, where later she met her husband, Donald Scott. They were married on July 22, 1967 and enjoyed 54 years as lifelong partners. In 1972, they bought their first and last home in Transcona where they raised their daughters Vicky and Dawn.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Scott, father Donald Black, mother Thelma Black (nee Clisby), and sister Karen Black. As well as her grandson Christian Wiens and niece Katherine Dumka.
Terry is survived by her, daughters Vicky (Kevin) Wiens, Dawn (Chris) Neufeld and her grandchildren, Jonah Wiens, Paige Lilley, Zachary Wiens, and Hannah Wiens.
Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters Wendy (Norm), Oddleifson Susan (John) Ritchie, Jackie Black, nephews and nieces Chris Oddleifson, Leah Oddleifson, Jay Ritchie, Keith Ritchie, and Jessica Black, Mike Dumka.
Terry had many lifelong friendships and memories that were worthy of many short stories. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her love for animals was always evident. It was common at family get-togethers to see her search out the four-legged furry pets to love up!
Terry worked for the River East School Division for many years except for the time she took off to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her daughters Vicky and Dawn. She returned back to work when the girls were older. There she worked as a secretary for Lord Wolseley School until her retirement. She took pride in her work and loved the students and always had a good story about her interactions with them.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her growing family. She enjoyed her yard, loved gardening, playing online games, or just going for a car ride with her family. She was a great friend to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends in early October as well as being laid to rest with her beloved husband shortly after.
