It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, the passing of Victoria Marie Young on March 24, 2026 at the age of 75.
Vikki is survived by her husband John of 50 years, and her children Terri, Wendy (Rob), Amanda (Marty), and Jonathon (Julie). Her grandchildren Brody and Autumn, and her great-grandchildren Haisley and Ellie. Vikki was also very close to her sister Janet, and was godmother to all Janet’s children Nicole, Matthew, and Megan.
Mom lived a full, committed life to her children and their involvement in sports. She dedicated any extra time serving our community proudly, constantly raising awareness for a multitude of children's charities, and held many board & director positions throughout the years volunteering with East Elmwood Community Centre, Parks and Recreation and the River East Optimist Club. All of this, while putting us kids through ringette, softball, soccer, hockey, etc. Honestly don’t remember her missing many games. Mom also found time to either coach or manage one of our teams somehow and still held a full-time job & sometimes two jobs. She truly was a remarkable woman and an inspiration to us all. No matter how busy life was, she somehow found time for countless adventures camping, hiking, and traveling throughout Canada and the United States.
Mom you leave us with a billion plus memories and a deep sorrow without you. It’s time to rest. The love that you shared is boundless. You will never be forgotten.
